Gifts for Women
24 dos and don’ts for selecting gifts for women:
Dos:
1. Do Consider Her Interests: Choose a gift that aligns with her hobbies, interests, and passions.
So if she likes going to the gym new workout gear would be a great idea
2. Do Personalize: Opt for personalized gifts that show you’ve put thought into her preferences.
For our 12th anniversary which is silk anniversary I had a friend hand paint a silk scarf in her favourite colours (hint know what your girl’s favourite colours are)
3. Do Listen: Pay attention to any hints or comments she drops about items she wants or needs.
When you go shopping together carry a pad and pen with you and subtly make notes because if you are like me you will forget
4. Do Research: If you’re unsure, research her favorite brands, colors, and styles to make an informed choice.
You can look in the closet and take a few photos (make sure you do it when she is not there or it will spoil the surprise and seem weird)
5. Do Go Thoughtful: Select gifts that hold sentimental value or reflect shared memories.
Getting some photos from the past and putting them in a nice frame works well.
6. Do Think About Experiences: Consider gifting experiences like spa days, concerts, or workshops she might enjoy.
Booking a spa day and going with her is great!
7. Do Consider Practicality: Choose gifts that are useful and can enhance her daily life.
My sister loves to cook so getting gifts she can use in the kitchen are great, but not all women like things that remind her to cook.
8. Do Focus on Quality: Invest in well-made items that will last and provide lasting enjoyment.
A great example of this is watches.
If you buy a known higher end brand you know it will last longer and in the long term be a better buy
9. Do Be Creative: Think outside the box and surprise her with unexpected and creative gifts.
If you really want to thing outside the box follow Edward De Bono’s advice.

If you have a bad memory make a list
Don’ts:
1. Don’t Be Generic: Avoid overly generic gifts that lack thought or effort.
Gift voucher are for friends and relatives not for your significant other.
2. Don’t Make Assumptions: Don’t assume all women will like the same type of gifts;
individual preferences vary.
Just because it is the latest fashion doesn’t mean she would like it.
3. Don’t Rush: Avoid last-minute gifts that may not accurately reflect her interests.
You know when her birthday is you know when Christmas is plan ahead!
Unless you are buying her flowers or puppy you can buy it in advance and store it somewhere
4. Don’t Impersonalize: Refrain from giving gifts that feel impersonal or generic.
If you think when you buy something any girl would like this you know it is generic
5. Don’t Ignore Dislikes: Avoid gifting items she has expressed a dislike for in the past.
Keep a list of gifts you have bought her is the past and her reaction, but particularity how often she used it.
6. Don’t Overlook Sizes: If you’re gifting clothing or accessories, make sure you have the correct size.
Keep a list of all her sizes.
7. Don’t Choose Offensive Gifts: Stay away from gifts that could be construed as offensive, even in jest.
8. Don’t Overspend Unnecessarily: Choose a gift that’s thoughtful and appropriate within your budget. It is a cliché but it is the thought that counts. Spending too much can cause embarrassment
9. Don’t Be Cliché: Avoid overly cliché gifts unless you know she genuinely appreciates them.
Flowers and chocolates are common and she can buy those for herself
10. Don’t Forget Presentation: Put effort into the presentation of the gift, including wrapping and a heartfelt card.
My wife loves a cute card and keeps it on display all year.
11. Don’t Push Personal Preferences: Don’t select gifts based solely on your own preferences;
consider hers.
Homer Simpson bought Marge a bowling ball. Don’t do that!
12. Don’t Ignore Gift Cards Completely: While thoughtful gifts are great, a well-chosen gift card can also be appreciated.
My wife got a gift card from a sports store she did not know about.
I am not a big fan of gift cards but that was a great choice
you are for having them in your life.
